WHO WE ARE

Lachlan Valentine - Founder/Mentor (M.Teach, GCert.STeach, B.sp/RecMgt.)

Perth, Western Australia.

I have over fifteen years of experience working in educational institutions, as a teacher, mentor, coach, pastoral care leader, and boarding house master. Throughout my career, in both Australia and the United Kingdom, I have been dedicated to guiding boys as they grow into men of character and influence. My passion lies in boys’ education—helping them develop the strength to call out poor behaviour, challenge negative influences, and lead their mates and communities with integrity.

A devastating, yet defining, moment in my career ignited a deep passion to instil these skills in boys earlier, during their secondary school years. I believe these years are crucial—laying the foundation for resilience, responsibility, and confidence before boys enter what is known as the “High Risk Window” between the ages of 18-24, the most influential but also at-risk stage of their lives. By equipping them sooner, they are better prepared to navigate challenges, stand firm in their values, and make decisions that shape the men they will become.

I hold multiple university degrees: a Master of Teaching, a Graduate Certificate in Secondary Teaching, and a Bachelor in Sport and Recreation Management. Backed by this academic foundation and my years of hands-on experience in schools and sporting organisations, I design and deliver programs that are practical, engaging, and tailored specifically to boys. At the heart of everything I do is a clear belief: when boys are empowered to lead with courage and compassion, they not only change their own lives, they change the culture for all around them.

At LVAL Educate, we deliver engaging, practical, and values-driven workshops that empower young people to grow into confident, resilient, and respectful individuals. Our programs are built around ten carefully designed lessons that encourage students to reflect, connect, and take action in their own lives.

Through interactive discussions, role-plays, challenges, and reflections, students explore key themes such as:

  • Inclusivity & Belonging – building trust, empathy, and strong peer relationships.

  • Respect – developing genuine respect for others, especially women, and challenging stereotypes.

  • Resilience – learning to persevere through setbacks and build strategies for growth.

  • Character & Integrity – making positive choices and committing to values that shape identity.

  • Vulnerability – recognising openness as a strength and fostering authentic connections.

  • Learning from Mistakes – embracing setbacks as opportunities for growth and problem-solving.

  • Small Actions, Big Change – understanding the power of everyday behaviours.

  • Challenging Peers – developing the courage to call out poor choices and encourage the right ones.

  • Leadership by Example – practising influence through actions, not words.

  • Stepping into Discomfort – embracing challenges as a pathway to personal growth.
